Self Employed Website Designer, Esknet - June 1999- September 2000
I design original bespoke websites for small businesses and individuals using DHTML and programs such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop 5. The clients I have worked for include an environmental charity, bed and breakfasts, a freelance artist and a homepage for the Scottish personality Donnie Munro as part of his Information Service. I am always keen to learn new programs and at the moment I am learning Flash 4. Training and Work Placement - InfoRM and Primrose and Gordon Solicitors - February 1998-June 1998 I completed a training course for the unemployed in website design, internet marketing, graphics creation and internet skills. I designed a website for Primrose and Gordon Solicitors and solved any computer problems there.
During a spell of unemployment I worked hard to make effective contacts in order to eventually become self-employed and to improve my computer skills. I also attended and completed a Self-Starters Course run by Scottish Enterprise in November 1998 to give the skills necessary for self -employment.
Work Placement - Scotland on Sunday 1996
I helped the reporters on the news desk with office duties such as photocopying and research. I also worked on a feature on higher education with the education correspondent Aaron Hicklin.
Shop Assistant - Awthings 1994
I was responsible for the general running of a small greengrocers whilst the owner was on holiday. Duties included serving customers, ordering stock and cleaning the shop.
